CHICAGO (AP) – U.S. Representative Lauren Underwood of Illinois has tested positive for COVID-19, the Democrat of the second term said Friday.
“Today, when I returned from an official trip abroad, I tested positive for COVID-19,” Underwood said in a statement. “I was tested throughout my journey and tested negative. I will follow guidelines from the CDC and the House Attending Physician to isolate and protect others.
“Fortunately, my symptoms are mild so far, and I’m grateful to have the protection of a safe vaccine and booster. I urge anyone who has not yet received a vaccine and booster injection to help protect yourself. and others against serious illness. “
Other members of Congress from Illinois have also tested positive for COVID-19. Brad Schneider have tested positive twice.
