Washington Capitals AHL affiliate postpones two games due to COVID-19 – NBC4 Washington

Hershey Bears Postpone Two Games Due To COVID-19 Protocols Originally On NBC Sports Washington

The Hershey Bears, the AHL affiliate of the Capitals, announced the postponement of two upcoming games on Saturday night due to COVID-19 protocols.

The Bears move their games against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms originally scheduled for Sunday, November 28 and Wednesday, December 1.

“This decision has been made in consultation with medical experts and the AHL and for the health and safety of players, coaches and game day staff,” the team said.

Hershey is coming off a difficult 7-3 loss to the Rochester Americans on Friday night after winning overtime against the Bruins on Wednesday night.

While the youth movement of former Bears champions such as Martin Fehevary and Connor McMichael is finally starting to take shape this season for the injury-riddled Caps, there are still plenty of prospects to keep up with in Hershey. Promising wingers Axel Jonsson-Fjallby and Garrett Pilon plus defender Alex Alexeyev have all played key roles for the 8-6-2-1 Bears this season.
