University hospitals are among the local health systems that have resumed the planning of unnecessary surgeries and procedures.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Northeast Ohio’s major hospitals have resumed planning elective surgeries and procedures that require overnight stays after pausing them during the worst winter COVID-19 rise.

But the time between planning and actually getting an operation date depends on the operation and the hospital. Some patients have to wait until the summer for their non-emergency surgery.
