The League One game between Wigan Athletic and Oxford United at the DW Stadium has been postponed after seven away players tested positive for COVID-19.
The players all tested positive on Saturday morning after falling ill overnight, meaning Oxford could not name a squad for the league game.
The game was postponed after both clubs consulted with the EFL. A new date will be determined in due course.
Oxford said in a statement: “Seven players tested positive this morning after falling ill overnight meaning the U’s will not be able to team up for the Sky Bet League One match.
United have called off the game in consultation with Wigan and the English Football League (EFL), who have said they will review the circumstances surrounding the postponement.
Wigan added: “We apologize for any inconvenience caused to supporters and wish our colleagues at Oxford United the best.”
Both teams are doing well this season. Oxford is sixth, with Wigan two points off the top with a game in hand.
